There is a common belief that people should just somehow get along. That most people think the same way as you do. That somehow not getting along or voicing a counter-view indicates a problem, usually ‘their’ problem. To support this, the common consensus is that compromise is the necessary and mature thing to do.

 We don’t agree. We think that compromise is a strategy for nobody getting what they want and everybody losing out. There is a better way. Everyone is unique. We all have something special abut us; life experiences, outlook, attitude, insights - something that we can contribute in a group or team situation - even if it’s just our point of view. What’s important is that we find a way for each individual to have their contribution ‘heard, understood and genuinely considered’ by others.
